The hackers’ purpose was to send emails to their consumers as ICANN and use the company’s brand in order to obtainpersonal information and financial data.These type of methods are the most used by the defrauders in such a way they
succeed to produce images close to the real logos, the same catchphrase and words as the originals from the websites
they attack. With all this information they succeed to access ICANN systems, including the domain registration Whois portal,
CZDS, the wiki pages of the ICANN GAC and ICANN blog.
